Directed by Atlee, Jawan stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone (billed as a special appearance), Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra. The film was initially planned for release on 2 June 2023, but was postponed due to delayed post-production work.

According to Sacnilk, the film is set to clock an all-India total of Rs 73 crore nett and a gross total of an estimated Rs 84.50 crore. With these numbers, Jawan is expected to take the biggest opening for a Hindi film. It will also reportedly have one of the biggest openings in South states for a Bollywood film with a Hindi actor in the lead role.
Jawan Movie ReviewThe film’s total collection for its Hindi release is estimated to be around Rs 65 crore nett and an estimated Rs 77 crore gross. Meanwhile, the numbers coming in for the Tamil dubbed version is expected to be around Rs 4 crore nett to an estimated Rs 4.75 crore gross. The Telugu numbers are also expected to be around the same as the Tamil collections.

According to state-wise earnings, the film is expected to rake in an estimated Rs 30 crore from the south states and over Rs 56 crore from the central and northern belts.
In the overseas markets, Jawan is expected to earn over Rs 50 crore on its opening day, thus taking its worldwide collection to an estimated Rs 140 crore, which is the highest opening for a Bollywood film.
Currently, Jawan occupies the 4 spot on the list of highest-earning Indian movies. It stands only behind RRR, Baahubali 2 and KGF 2.
Videos are doing the rounds on social media show for fans flocking to theatres as early as 6 am. A video shows the entire theatre dancing to ‘Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ from the film. Another clip shows confetti being thrown, cheering, whistling and screaming as SRK dances on the track.
With all the buzz around the film, it is likely that the movie will even break the record set by Pathaan, which turned out to be this year’s biggest money-minter at the box office.
Jawan has Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra.
It was released theatrically on 7 September.
