Accordingly, the Rajinikanth starrer reportedly got 90% occupancy on day 1, and it is said to have grossed over Rs 72 crore worldwide on its release day. ‘Jailer’ has reportedly grossed close to Rs 24 crores in Tamil Nadu on a working Thursday, while the domestic collection of the film reportedly sums around Rs 52 crores, with Rs 6 crores from Kerala, Rs 10 crores from Telugu states, and Rs 10 crores from Karnataka.
The overseas collection of the film adds power to the film on day 1, as it takes the worldwide collection to Rs 72 crores. Rajinikanth’s film has had a tremendous opening like all his films do in overseas locations, while the film earned close to Rs 11 crores from the USA region itself. The day 2 collection of the film is expected to be a lesser one than the day 1, but the film is set to climb to the top during the weekend.
