Sunny Deol Juhu Villa Auction: Bank of Baroda withdraws e-auctioning of Sunny Deol’s Juhu property, Congress wonders why | India News

NEW DELHI: In a huge relief for actor Sunny Deol, Bank of Baroda (BOB) has decided to withdraw its decision to auction the actor’s Mumbai property for non-payment of Rs 56 crore.
The bank, in a newspaper advertisement, said that “the sale notice in respect of Mr Ajay Sing Deol alias Mr Sunny Deol stands withdrawn due to technical reasons” and listed the description of the property.

The decision comes a day after BOB advertised about e-auctioning of the Gurdaspur MP’s property.

Bank of Baroda had put on the block a property owned by the actor to recover Rs 56 crore through an e-auction to be held on August 25.

GADAR 2 Star Sunny Deol’s Juhu bungalow NOT ON SALE; Bank of Baroda withdraws e-auction notice

Sunny Deol has been in default on a Rs 55.99 crore loan from the bank and interest and penalty, since December 2022, the second largest state-owned lender said in a public tender on Sunday.
Soon after the bank’s notice of withdrawal, Congress asked who triggered the ‘technical reasons’.
“Yesterday afternoon the nation got to know that Bank of Baroda had put up the Juhu residence of BJP MP Sunny Deol for e-auction since he has not paid up Rs 56 crore owed to the Bank. This morning, in less than 24 hours, the nation has got to know that the Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to ‘technical reasons’,” party general secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted.

The bank notice, which was issued under the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act, 2002, names Ajay Singh Dharmendra Deol alias Sunny Deol as the borrower guarantor, and Vijay Singh Dharmendra Deol alias Bobby Deol and Dharmendra Singh Deol as the guarantors.
