Amit Shah takes a dig at Rahul Gandhi; ‘Launched 13 times in politics, failed every time’ | India News

[ad_1]

NEW DELHI: Union minister Amit Shah on Wednesday took a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his speech on no trust motion in the Lok Sabha.

“We have seen one opposition leader being launched 13 times and every such attempt has failed,” Amit Shah said without taking the name of Rahul Gandhi.
He reminded the House of how the Congress had hyped Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the house of one Kalavati Bandurkar, a farm widow from Yavatmal’s Jalka village.

In 2008, Rahul had gone to Kalavati’s village as he toured the country and mentioned her condition in his speech in Lok Sabha. Her husband Parshuram Bandurkar, a farmer, had committed suicide allegedly due to agrarian crisis.

“The truth is that the Congress did nothing for Kalavati and it was the BJP which changed her life for the better,” Amit Shah said.

“What did you do for her? House, ration, electricity were provided to her by Modi government,” he said.
