South Asian: Indian American leaders join Nasdaq closing bell to celebrate Diwali

Gold House, a cultural ecosystem that unites, invests in and champions Asian Pacific creators and
companies in the US and The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), an organisation dedicated to
building a safer, more inclusive future for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders; brought together
the South Asian diaspora to celebrate Diwali at Nasdaq MarketSite, in Times Square, New York City;
by ringing the closing bell on Friday.South Asian executives and leaders across the business and
entertainment communities joined the event.
“To kick off the Diwali season, we are proud to convene South Asian executives and leaders across
the business and entertainment communities in collaboration with Gold House and The Asian
American Foundation at the Nasdaq closing bell. Thank you to the visionary leaders, innovators,
entrepreneurs, executives and creatives who joined us today to celebrate the impact that this
community has on our society,” Nasdaq, America’s leading stock exchange, said in a release.
Prominent Indian Americans who joined the event included Divya Mathur, retail executive and
former chief merchandising officer at Intermix; Anjula Acharia, entrepreneur, philanthropist and
angel investor; Anushka (Ramchandani) Salinas, president & COO at Rent The Runway; Avery
Akkineni, founding president, Vayner3; Nisha Dua, managing partner & co-founder, BBG Ventures;
Versha Sharma, editor in chief at Teen Vogue; Neha Parikh, CEO & president, Carvana; Archana
Misra Jain, CEO of Product of Culture; Noopur Agarwal, vice president of social impact, MTV
Entertainment Studios ; Sonia Patel Jain, chief pharmacist at Capsule; Nina Davuluri, former Miss
America and filmmaker; Rohan Oza, founding partner at CAVU Consumer Partners; Pranav Yadav,
founder and global CEO Neuro-Insight and Sehr Thadhani, chief digital officer at Nasdaq.
