WATCH: Rahul Dravid misses Indian players on Triund trek in Dharamsala | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Rejuvenating during the one-week break before their next match against England, the Indian team as well as the coaching staff led by Rahul Dravid are on a break from training. Taking advantage of that rare leisure, chief coach Dravid led his team of support staff on the Triund trek in Dharamsala.
BCCI shared a small video of Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour and others navigating through the climb up the mountain and then posing together for the camera sitting on a rock upon reaching the top.
“Superb view coming up to Triund. Just getting here, you are going up the mountain, climbing. It’s a challenging trek, I must admit it,” said Dravid in the video.

“Once you come here, the views are breathaking, spectacular. It’s incredible for the support staff to be able to come here. Just a great day out as well,” said Dravid.
The chief coach and former India captain said it was risky to bring any of the players on a trek, considering there is a World Cup to be won, hopefully.
India are so far undefeated in the tournament, having won five matches in a row and sitting on top of the points table.

“Unfortunately, can’t bring the boys up here, a bit too risky walking on those stones,” said Dravid. “But hopefully, one day when they are not playing (any tournament), I would love for some of the boys to come here and experience this.”
Batting coach Rathour was also mesmerized by the views en route the “little hard” trek and upon reaching Triund.
“We are at Triund. Started from a place called Galu. It’s beyond McLeod Ganj. When you are climbing up, the last half-an-hour trek is a little hard, but the moment it opens up, everything is worth it,” said Rathour.

Talking about preserving such naturally beautiful places, Dravid added: “There are so many places that are so rich in nature, diversity, places that we can explore, that are still so beautiful and untouched. I hope that we keep it that way and pass on to our next generations for them to enjoy and come and have these walks. I would love my children to do this one day.”

The Indian team was in Dharamsala for the match against New Zealand, which they won by four wickets. The hosts will next play England in their sixth match of the 2023 ICC World Cup on October 29 in Lucknow.
