In a signed affidavit, Hiranandani admitted to using Moitra to ask questions targeting Adani after state-owned behemoth Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) booked capacity at the Gujarat-based conglomerate’s Dhamra LNG import facility in Odisha and not at his firm’s planned facility.
Darshan said that he used the Rajya Sabha MP’s Parliamentary login to ask questions from the central government.Mahua, he claimed, “made frequent demands” including “expensive luxury items, providing support on renovation of her officially allotted bungalow in Delhi, travel expenses, holidays, etc, apart from providing secretarial and logistical help for her travels within India and to different parts of the world,” news agency PTI reported.

Earlier this week, BJP’s Godda MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to constitute an inquiry committee to probe the allegations made against her.
Dubey, who has frequently sparred with Moitra, cited a letter from Jai Anant Dehadrai, an advocate, where he claimed that there was “irrefutable evidence” of “bribes” exchanged between her and Darshan Hiranandani, a business tycoon, to ask questions in Parliament.
The BJP MP claimed that Dehadrai, on the basis of research, had concluded that out of the 61 questions Moitra asked recently, 51 were meant to protect the business interests of Hiranandani and his company. He also claimed she would target the PM and the home minister as a cover for her “nexus” with the business group, and added that Dehadrai had backed his allegations by attaching relevant papers which were shared with the LS secretariat.
Moitra had rejected the charges claiming that she had been targeted for raising alleged favouritism to the Adani group and referring to her own charge about Dubey’s educational qualification.
