BENGALURU: TCS has sacked 16 employees, while three have been removed from the resource management function in a bribe-for-jobs scandal. Also, six vendor entities have been debarred from doing any business with the company, TCS said in a statement to the stock exchange.
TCS had launched a review after a breach of the company’s code of conduct by certain employees and vendors providing contractors. Some of its employees received bribes from staffing firms to employ the latter’s candidates on contract
“… this does not involve any fraud by or against the company and there is no financial impact; the issue relates to breach of company’s code of conduct by certain employees and vendors supplying contractors; no key managerial person of the company has been found to be involved,” the company said.
