Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur move up in ICC women’s ODI rankings

NEW DELHI: Indian batters Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur have both improved their positions, jumping one spot up in the latest ICC Women’s Player Rankings released on Tuesday.
Mandhana has moved up to fourth position with 708 points, while Indian captain Harmanpreet has climbed to sixth position with 694 points.
England’s star batter Nat Sciver-Brunt currently holds the top spot in the ODI batting rankings. Sciver-Brunt achieved this ranking after a record-breaking century in their third ICC Women’s Championship ODI victory over Sri Lanka, reaching a century in just 66 balls, which is the fastest for an England women’s player. She finished with 120 runs from just 74 balls, including 18 fours and a six.
Sciver-Brunt’s outstanding performance also elevated her to the third-highest rating for an English women’s player in ODI batting ranking history, with 807 points. Only Claire Taylor (814) and Sarah Taylor (812), who achieved their respective ratings in July 2009, have higher ratings.
On the Sri Lankan side, Hasini Perera has moved up 26 spots to 57th position with 325 points after her three innings in the series.
While there was only one change in the top ten rankings for bowlers (Ayabonga Khaka moving to seventh and surpassing Kate Cross), there were notable changes in the top 20.

Charlie Dean‘s performance of 5/31 in the third ODI against Sri Lanka has elevated her to a career-best 12th position with 571 points. Nida Dar has moved up two spots to 19th, and Nashra Sandhu is up one spot to 15th, leading the way for Pakistan. Sadia Iqbal has also made a significant jump, climbing 13 spots into the top 50 with successive hauls of 2-32 and 2-26 against South Africa.
England’s Sarah Glenn stepped up in the absence of the injured and top-ranked Sophie Ecclestone, claiming five wickets in the ODI series against Sri Lanka and moving up 12 places to 52nd position with 328 points.
In terms of all-rounders, Ash Gardner (389) has taken the top spot after Nat Sciver-Brunt’s drop and is followed by Hayley Matthews (382). Sciver-Brunt has moved down to the third position in the ODI all-rounder rankings.
Chamari Athapaththu has moved closer to the top ten with a strong performance in England, and several players in minor positions have also made notable progress. Dean has moved up three spots to equal 15th, Salma Khatun is up two spots to equal 17th, and Nadine de Klerk has climbed six spots to equal 38th in the rankings.
