NEW DELHI: India’s run-machine Virat Kohli was given rest for India’s final Asia Cup ‘Super 4’ encounter against Bangladesh on Friday. Given that the match was a dead rubber with India and Sri Lanka already confirmed as the two finalists, the team management opted to rest not only Virat but also Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj.
In their absence, the Playing XI against Bangladesh featured Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, who made his debut, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna.
