NEW DELHI: Ahead of his anticipated comeback to the Indian team during the Asia Cup 2023, KL Rahul expressed his gratitude to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) staff for the treatment and support he received during his recovery.
After successfully passing all the fitness tests, Rahul is now fully prepared to participate in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup, marking a positive development for his return to competitive cricket.

Rahul took to X, formerly Twitter, to express his gratitude to BCCI and NCA after recovering from injury.

“Reflecting on my journey in the last few months, which has been filled with challenges and lessons. The road has been humbling. A big shoutout to Nitin sir, Yogesh sir, Rajini sir, Dhananjay Bhai, Shalini and everyone at the NCA for your efforts and commitment towards getting me back on the ground Special mention to the team at Wellington Hospital in London and Dr. Rahul Patel for a smooth op. Lastly to the BCCI for the constant support and belief.”

Rahul had previously been named to India’s Asia Cup team, but he missed the league stage matches due to a new ailment that required him to participate in additional rounds of NCA fitness drills.

Expressing satisfaction over the fitness levels of Rahul, chief selector Ajit Agarkar on Tuesday said the 31-year-old has overcome his niggle that delayed his comeback in the ongoing Asia Cup.
“KL (Rahul) is looking good. We feel this gives us the best balance to try and do well. KL was part of the camp in Bangalore, and he looked really good there and has got over his niggle.
“He played a couple of games over the last two days (at NCA). He kept for 50 overs and batted for around 50 overs too, so we’re happy to have him,” said Agarkar after announcing India’s World Cup-bound 15-member squad in the presence of captain Rohit Sharma in Kandy.
