When is the right date and time to tie Rakhi?
Rakhsha Bandhan is a festival of sharing happiness and every sister wants to tie the Rakhi to their brother during the auspicious time. So don’t worry about that as we are here to clear your confusion that when is the correct time to tie Rakhi. Purnima Tithi will start on August 30, 2023 from 10:45 AM and almost at the same time Bhadra will also start from 11:00 AM. Bhadra will end at 09:03 PM. So, during bhadra time people will not be able to celebrate Rakhi as Bhadra time is considered inauspicious to tie Rakhi.
Purnima Tithi will end on August 31, 2023 at 07:05 AM so in that case being a Surya-Udaye Purnima will be considered auspicious and people can celebrate Rakhi on August 31, 2023.
Either people can celebrate this festival on August 30, 2023 after 09:00 PM or tie Rakhi next day early morning i.e., on August 31, 2023 before 07:05 AM.

Why You Should Not Tie Rakhi During Bhadra?
Bhadra is considered inauspicious. Bhadra is a daughter of Lord Sun and the sister of Lord Shani Dev. It is believed that when she was born, she was about to swallow the whole world and that’s why she used to create hindrances in all the auspicious activities like Hawan and Yajna and that’s why she is considered inauspicious.
It is also believed that Shurpanakha tied Rakhi to Ravana during Bhadra Kaal and after that his kingdom was destroyed and even he got killed in the battle with Lord Shri Ram.
