KL Rahul headlines India’s busy day in training camp ahead of Asia Cup | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: While the batters batted in pairs, simulating match scenarios, an in-focus KL Rahul put in the hard yards on the Day 1 of Team India‘s training camp in Alur, Bengaluru ahead of the Asia Cup.
The six-day camp for the Asia Cup-bound team had various fitness routines, including the Yo-Yo test on Thursday.
With a pool of 13-15 high-profile domestic bowlers, including the likes of Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, the Indian team had a lengthy session on Friday that primarily focused on the batters.
The batters, under the watchful eyes of Rahul Dravid and Vikram Rathour batted in pairs. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill began the session at the Platinum Oval and were followed by Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. Spinners Sai Kishore, Kuldeep Yadav had a long go at Kohli in the nets.

KL Rahul, who is making a comeback after a long injury lay-off, started the morning session under the team’s conditioning coaches. After the initial stretches and sprints, Rahul continued his elaborate fitness routine.

The 31-year-old then batted for a long time in the nets alongside Suryakumar Yadav. During his batting, Rahul, who is dealing with a niggle, showed no signs of discomfort.
After his session, Rahul was also seen having a chat with Dravid and Rathour.
