NEW DELHI: ‘We did not do everything right’ last season admitted Sourav Ganguly as the Delhi Capitals‘ Director of Cricket vowed to come back stronger while addressing a young brigade during franchise’s first off-season camp for IPL 2024 on Saturday.
Addressing a set of domestic players from both men’s and women’s teams that included the likes of Yash Dhull, Khaleel Ahmed, Ganguly gave an inspiring speech pointing out the down side of the forgettable 2023 season.
“It was a very very poor season, by any standards and I think we did not do well enough. So it’s important for us that we learn from that and come back as a better team. There is no harm in losing but the problem will be when we don’t improve and get better,” said Ganguly.

“We have 6 months. We will give you everything, every support to come back as a better team next year. It’s not that we did everything right. We did wrong things, made mistakes, we lost, we got beaten. The only thing which can take you to the next level is working hard. Use all the time at training only to get better. We will use this time to get better,” Ganguly added.
The former India captain also lauded Capitals’ women’s team for making it to the final of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League.
The Capitals men’s team that played without their regular skipper Rishabh Pant, finished a lowly 9th in IPL 2023.
