BENGALURU: With the festive season on the horizon, the BFSI sector is expected to generate 50,000 temporary jobs in the second half of the year to meet the surge in financing options for customers, a report by manpower services firm TeamLease said. This is a 15% increase in job opportunities over the same time last year.

The demand for temporary workers is expected not only in tier-1 cities, but also in tier-2 and tier-3 cities such as Kochi, Vizag, Madurai, Lucknow etc. In the last two-three years, markets like Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad have witnessed as many open positions for on-the-feet and tele-operator roles as in metro cities, the report said.
Krishnendu Chatterjee, VP and business head – BFSI in TeamLease Services, said, “As credit card transactions surge, personal finance applications proliferate, and India’s digital payments landscape flourishes, we are poised for a dynamic job market over the next five-six months. In the past two months , we have witnessed an influx of 25,000 job openings for temporary positions. We anticipate it to escalate in the coming months.” Earnings for temporary workers in these roles have grown 7-10% compared to last year.
